St. Karol Józef Wojtyła, (AD 1920-2005), known as John Paul II since his election to the papacy, was a Polish philosopher and bishop who participated in the Second Vatican Council. His philosophical work, including his magnum opus, The Acting Person, integrated contemporary phenomenology and Thomistic metaphysics in order to understand the high calling of being human. Our seminarians study his work in Philosophy of the Human Person and Ethics.
