Borromeo Seminary is dedicated to helping the seminarian discern his vocation and grow spiritually as a man of faith. Each student is assigned a Formation Advisor with whom he meets every week during his first two months in the seminary and every three weeks thereafter. A student also chooses a spiritual director from among a list of priests who have been specially trained and instructed. The student’s individual spiritual director helps and guides the seminarian in the process of spiritual formation by meeting with him every three weeks.
Under the direction of the house spiritual director, the students gather as a faith community. They receive instructions in prayer and the spiritual life and are given ample opportunities for spiritual growth through the attendance of a yearly retreat, spirituality weekends, monthly formation workshops, formation discussion sessions, and spiritual conferences.
