My name is Kristhian Guillen and I am 29 years old. I was born in Santa Elena, Usulután, El Salvador and came to Washington, DC when I was 17 years old. I attended Sacred Church which is staffed by Capuchins, and I later began serving at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception where my love for the Church deepened immensely. This is when I felt an attraction to serve the Lord full-time and for life. In 2011, I received the call to the priesthood, but I decided to discern more deeply until I felt comfortable with my discernment. Different priests, along with religious sisters and brothers, were available to help support me with my vocation. In 2013, I attended a retreat where I offered the Lord all my life to his service, but I asked Him for a specific confirmation. The Lord is marvelously great and that is all I can say for now. After all these confirmations from God, I began to discern with the Capuchins and soon decided to enter the Capuchin Formation Program at Borromeo in Cleveland to finish college and to prepare myself for a life of ministry and service.
