The Most Reverend
Richard G. Lennon
Bishop of Cleveland

Dear Friend in Christ,

After being appointed as the Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, I must tell you how thrilled I was to learn that we have a college seminary program right here in our own diocese. Upon my first visit with the seminarians, I quoted the late John Paul II, in saying that I see the seminary as "the heart of the diocese." I am happy to welcome you to Borromeo Seminary.

Choosing a college is not easy. Add to that the discernment of your life's vocation and you are faced with an important task. In everyone's life, discovering what the Lord is asking is a serious challenge and one that benefits from the support of trusted companions. Borromeo Seminary, and its affiliation with John Carroll University, is a wonderful place for young men to discern the Lord's call to the priesthood amidst a community of Christian friends. I am grateful for your willingness to consider the possibility of priesthood.

As you consider Borromeo Seminary for your college choice, be open to the movement of the Spirit working in your life. The important question, "Have you ever thought about the priesthood?" is one you or someone you respect may already have asked. Just asking that question might very well be a sign from God to explore it further.

Be assured of my prayers and best wishes at this exciting time in your life.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

The Most Reverend Richard G. Lennon
Bishop of Cleveland
